Shillong
After arriving in Kolkata, we make our way toward Shillong, stopping in Guwahati. After checking into our accommodation we share a meal and get ready for the fantastic trip ahead of us.

Shillong
This morning we make our way to Shillong, stopping in Cherrapunjee to admire the waterfalls and valleys, including a 7km walk to the famous Double Decker Root Bridge near the village of Nongriat.

Kaziranga NP
After a visit to Don Bosco Museum, we travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Kaziranga National Park, checking into our evening accommodations and enjoying your surrounds.

Kaziranga NP
We have a full day exploring the NP via jeep today, searching for one horned rhinoceros, elephants, bison, wild boar, the rare Hoolock gibbon, the wild Asian buffalo, and a myriad of birds.

Majuli Island
This morning we make our way to Neematighat jetty to board the ferry to Majuli Island, India’s largest river island, for a 2-hour crossing. On arrival we visit a Hindu Vaishnavite monastery to meet the residents and explore the monk quarters and the prayer hall.

Majuli Island
We start our day today with a visit to the village of Samaguri to see the art of traditional mask making followed by a performance of Satriya (monastic dance). In the afternoon we explore a local village talented in weaving and making rice beer.

Dibrugarh
Following breakfast we make our way back to the mainland and to our traditional bungalow in Dibrugarh, stopping in Sivasgar to visit the remains of the Ahom Dynasty and the tallest Hindu temple.

This morning we tour a local tea factory and plantation, and then make our way to visit a nearby market and local weaving centre before retiring to our bungalow for the evening.

Mon
This morning we leave our bungalows and cross the state border into Nagaland and to our accommodation in the hill town of Mon, the gateway to traditional Konyak villages.

Mon
This morning we’re visiting Longwa village, which shares a border with Myanmar, to witness their beautiful traditional handicrafts. In the afternoon we visit the former head hunting village of Hongphoi.

Mokokchung
This morning we leave Mon for to Mokokchung, driving through beautiful scenery to an altitude of 1350m.

Kohima
This morning we continue our scenic drive, this time to Kohima, home to the famous Hornbill Festival held during the first 10 days of December.

Kohima
Our last full day of the tour will be today spent exploring the history and sites of Kohima, including the State Museum, War Cemetery and Catholic Cathedral. We’ll finish the day sharing our final dinner together and reflecting on the amazing trip shared.

Dimapur
Today we drive you to Dimapur airport to say our farewells as you fly to Kolkata for your connecting flight home.
